Bewilligungen / Permissions / Autorisations / Permessi

Grundsätzlich bestätigt jeder Owner beim Einreichen des Listings, dass die nötigen Bewilligungen zur Platzierung des Caches vorhanden sind. Im Allgemeinen gehen wir davon aus, dass dies stimmt. Bei Projekten, bei denen damit zu rechnen ist, das suchende Cacher darauf angesprochen werden, was sie hier tun, oder bei denen mit erhöhtem Einfluss auf die Umgebung gerechnet werden muss, behalten wir uns vor, uns diese Bewilligung explizit vorlegen zu lassen.
Die Bewilligung zum Platzieren eines Caches benötigst Du nicht nur, wenn der Cache auf Privatgrund liegt, auch öffentlicher Grund hat einen Besitzer, typischerweise die jeweilige Gemeinde oder allenfalls der Kanton oder Bund.

When submitting the listing for publication every cache owner confirms that he or she has the required permissions to place the cache. Generally we assume that this is true. With projects where searching Geocachers run the risk of being asked what they are doing or where an increased impact on the environment is to be expected, we reserve the right to have the permission presented to us explicitely.
You not only need the permission when placing a cache on private property, public property also has an owner, typically the community, canton or even the confederation.

Naturschutzgebiet / Réserve naturelle / Riserva naturale / Nature Reserve

Wie bei allen Caches gilt auch bei Caches in Natur- & Wildschutzgebieten, dass Du eine Bewilligung des Grundeigentümers brauchst, zusätzlich aber auch die Bewilligung der zuständigen Behörde (siehe unten). Ausserdem dürfen in Naturschutzgebieten die Wege nicht verlassen werden. Deshalb werden Caches in Naturschutzgebieten nur freigeschaltet, wenn sich im Listing ein zusätzlicher und deutlicher Hinweis befindet, dass 'der Weg zum Suchen und Loggen keinen Schritt verlassen werden muss'. Bitte bewerte die Schutzwürdigkeit eines Gebietes nicht selbst. Dies ist weder in deiner Kompetenz noch in der der Reviewer. Die Bewilligungs-Details musst du uns beim Review mitteilen und im Listing erwähnen, dass die Bewilligung vorliegt (ohne Nennung der Details).
Caches im Nationalpark sind nicht zugelassen. Es ist nicht erlaubt, irgendetwas im Nationalpark zurückzulassen.

Bitte beachte, dass wir für Caches in Naturschutzgebieten im Kanton Basel Land immer explizit nach der Bewilligung fragen müssen.

Like with all caches, you need to get the permission of the landowner to place caches in nature reserves or wildlife sanctuaries, but in addition you also need the permission of the appropriate authorities (see below). In addition, nature reserves are areas where the tracks must not be left. Therefore caches in these areas are only published if there is a clear statement in the listing that the tracks have 'not to be left for a single step in order to search and log the cache'. Please dont judge which nature reserve is worth to be protected and which is not. This is not your business nor is it the reviewers. You will need to include these details for the review and mention the presence of the permission (without details) in the listing.
Caches in the national park will not be published. Nobody is allowed to leave anything in the national park.

Please note that we will always need to explicitely ask for permissions for caches in Nature Reserves in the canton of Basel Land.

Bewilligende Stellen / Authorities

Grundsätzlich ist es deine Verantwortung, die korrekte Bewilligungsgeberin zu finden, diese (nicht zwingend vollständige) Liste kann Dir dabei helfen.

It is your task to find out which authorities are the correct ones to grant you permission, the list below (not necessarily complete) can be a starting point.

Bahngebiet / SBB CFF FFS / Railway System

Caches auf Schweizer Bahnhöfen sind (im Gegensatz z.B. zur USA und Deutschland) grundsätzlich möglich, solange sie sich im öffentlich zugänglichen Bereich befinden. Es ist jedoch eine Bewilligung der zuständigen Personen einzuholen. Ausserdem sollte der Cachecontainer besonders sogfältig ausgewählt werden. Ein Cache, der für eine Bombe gehalten wird und den Einsatz eines Bombenentschärfungskomandos auslöst, könnte Kosten verursachen, die Du als Cacheowner zu tragen hast.
Caches nahe Bahngeleisen sollten speziell sorgfältig plaziert werden. Es gelten keine speziellen Mindestabstände. Es muss jedoch immer sichergestellt sein, dass die Cacher den Zugführer weder ablenken können noch ihn erschrecken (Verwechslung mit möglichen Selbstmördern).
Caches an beweglichen Teilen wie Barrieren etc. sind nicht erlaubt.

In contrast to the situation in other countries like USA and Germany, caches at train stations are usually possible in Switzerland. But only in areas that are open to the public. Please get permission from a responsible person and be extra sensitive about the cache container. Containers that could be taken for a pipe bomb might call a bomb disposal squad which leads to costs that can be imposed on you as the cache owner.
Caches near railroad tracks should be carefully chosen. There are no specific minimum distances, but you have to make sure that the train driver is never distracted or irritated (suicidal intentions) by people searching for the cache.
Caches at moving parts (like barriers) are not allowed.

Lost Places / Structure abandonnée / Struttura abbandonata

In der Schweiz gibt es nur wenige Lost Places. Falls du planst, einen Cache bei einem Lost Place zu verstecken, lies bitte die Informationen auf der Deutschen Land Policy. Die Gesetze und Usanzen sind in der Schweiz weitgehend gleich.
Kontaktinfo: Kontaktiere direkt die Landbesitzer. Und bitte setze die Bewilligung direkt in das Cachelisting oder mindestens in eine Reviewernote. Die Reviewer können dir bei der Suche nach den Landbesitzern nicht helfen.

There are only few Lost Places (forgotten places) in Switzerland. If you plan to hide a cache in a Lost Place please carefully read the information on the German Land Policy. Laws and regulations are mostly the same in Switzerland.
Contact Info: Contact the owner of the Lost Place and be sure to attach the permission you got to the cache listing or at least the reviewer note. The reviewers can not assist you to find the owner.

Hydranten / Bouches d'incendie / Idranti / Fire Hydrants

Hydranten sind Teil von Sicherheitseinrichtungen. Das unberechtigte Manipulieren an Hydranten und Schiebern ist untersagt. Die Erfahrunng hat gezeigt, dass es in der Regel nicht möglich ist eine Bewilligung für einen Cache an/in einem Hydranten zu bekommen. Deshalb sind sie nicht gestattet.
Falls du eine Bewilligung vom lokalen Feuerwehrkommandanten o.ä. hast, erwähne dies bitte im Listingstext und hänge sie auch an eine Reviewernote an. Ansonsten könnte dein Cache wegen fehlender Bewilligung archiviert werden.

Fire hydrants are part of the security system. The experience is, that it is not possible to get permission for a hide in/at a fire hydrant. Therfore caches at fire hydrants are not allowed.
If you get a proper permission from your local brigade commander be sure to include this permission in the listing and a reviewer note. Otherwise your listing might be archived due to lack of permission.

Events

Bei Events ist es nicht immer einfach zu entscheiden, was Guideline-Konform ist und was nicht. Folgende drei Punkte aus den Guidelines haben in der Vergangenheit zu Diskussionen geführt, weshalb wir diese kurz erklären.

• Eventdauer
  Das Event muss mindestens 30 Minuten dauern. Während der Eventdauer muss immer mindestens jemand vor Ort sein und es muss für Teilnehmer während dieser Dauer jederzeit möglich sein, auch unangemeldet vorbeizukommen und am Event teilzunehmen.
• Eventort
  Das Event muss an einem fixen Ort stattfinden. Wird z.B. eine Führung oder Besichtigung organisiert, muss diese entweder vor oder nach dem eigentlichen Event stattfinden oder falls sie paraellel zum Event stattfindet, muss sichergestellt, dass an der Event-Location immer jemand vor Ort ist.
• Von Geocachern für Geocacher
  Wird ein Spezialprogramm (z.B. Führung, Besichtigung, etc) organisiert, so muss dies speziell für das Geocaching-Event gemacht werden. Faustregel: findet das Spezialprogramm auch ohne das Event statt, so ist das nicht zulässig. Das Spezialprogramm muss immer freiwillig sein.
  Ein paar Beispiele, was nicht ok ist:
  • Besuch eines Fussballmatches
  • Teilnahme an einem öffentlichen Besuchstag/öffentliche Führung
  • Teilnahme an einer Ausstellung
  • Teilnahme an einem Vortrag, welcher sowieso stattfindet
  • Teilnahme an einem kommerziellen Anlass oder an einem Anlass mit "Aufforderungscharakter"

With events, deciding whether they are complying with the Guidelines is not always easy. The following three points from the Guidelines have lead to discussions in the past, we are therefore explaining them here.

• Event duration
  The event must last at least 30 minutes. During this time somebody has to be available at the event location and it must be possible for event participants to attend the event during that time, even without having announced that they will be attending.
• Event location
  The event must take place at a fixed location. If a guided tour or visit is organised, it has to either take place before or after the event or - if taking place in parallel to the event - it must be ensured that somebody is always present at the event location.
• From Geocachers for Geocachers
  If a special program (such as guided tours, visits, etc) is organised, it must be organised specifically for the Geocaching-Event. Rule of thumb: If the special event would also take place without the geocaching event, it is not in accordance with the guidelines. The special program must always be optional.
  Some examples of what does not constitute a Guideline conforming special event:
  • Attending a soccer match
  • Attending a public tour/public open house
  • Attending an exhibition
  • Attending a speah/lecture that would take place anyway
  • Attending a commercial event or event that solicits something

GPS Gebrauch / GPS Usage

Zum finden eines Geocaches ist es zwingend nötig, dass ein GPS Gerät mindestens einmal genutzt wird. Als GPS-Nutzung werden folgende Aktivitäten angeschaut:

• Eingabe von Koordinaten ins GPS zum ansteuern eines Punktes.
  Es ist egal, ob an diesem Punkt etwas versteckt ist oder nicht.
• Eine Peilung von 100m oder mehr.

Folgende Aktivitäten gelten nicht als ausreichender GPS Gebrauch:

• Anlaufen eines Ortes anhand von Beschreibungen.
• Eine Peilung von weniger als 100m.

Daraus geben sich folgende Kombinationen, die in Ordnung sind:

• Gehe zum Nordtor der Kirche in XYZ und peile von dort 235m in Richtung 123°
  (ausreichend weite Peilung)
• Gehe zu den Koordinaten Nxx° xx.xxx Exxx° xx.xxx
  (egal, ob dort etwas versteckt ist oder nur ein Ableseposten; Parkplatz genügt aber nicht)
• Gehe zu den Koordinaten Nxx° xx.xxx Exxx° xx.xxx und peile von dort 32m in Richtung 123°
  (genaue Koordinaten)

Nicht ausreichend hingegen wäre:

• Gehe vom Parkplatz aus der Strasse mit Namen XYZ entlang und suche dann beim roten Tor
• Gehe zum Nordtor der Kirche in XYZ und peile von dort 32m in Richtung 123°

GPS usage is an inherent condition for Geocaching. In order to find a Geocache, the GPS device must be used at least once. The following activities are considered to be GPS usage:

• Entering coordinates into your GPS device in order to navigate to a location
  It does not matter if something is hidden at that location or if it is a virtual stage
• A projection of 100m or more

The following activities are not considered to be sufficient GPS usage:

• Navigating to a location using descriptions
• Projections of less than 100m

This results in the following combinations that are considered to be ok:

• Go to the north gate of the church in XYZ and project from there for 235m with a bearing of 123°
  (projection is far enough)
• Go to the coordinates Nxx° xx.xxx Exxx° xx.xxx
  (no matter if something is hidden or information must be gathered; parking would not be enough)
• Go to the coordinates Nxx° xx.xxx Exxx° xx.xxx and project from there for 32 with a bearing of 123°
  (Precise coordinates)

Not ok would be:

• From the parking coordinates, follow the road with name XYZ until you come to the red gate, where you need to search
• Go to the north gate of the church in XYZ and project from there for 32m with a bearing of 123°
