Edit Notes:

Edited January 10, 2021. Updated links to  National Parks policy.

Saskatchewan National Parks

Be aware that geocaching in National Parks within the province are govered by Parks Canada and there are very strict and specific requirements for the placement of a cache within the boundaries of a national park.    More information can be found at the following site.    http    https://www.pc.gc.ca/engen/docs/pc/guide/geocache/index.aspx

Saskatchewan Provincial Parks:

Geocaching in Saskatchewan Provincial Parks is regulated by the parks department of the Government of Saskatchewan.  Generally permission is granted by the park supervisor after reviewing the location and cache details.  More information on their policy can be found at the following link. http://www.tomlafleur.com/saskparks.pdf

Cemeteries

Caches are not allowed inside the boundaries of any cemetery without permission from the cemetery manager.   Caches may be placed along the outside of the cemetery as long the cache can be accessed from outside and there is no need to go inside.   On rare occasions when permission has been granted it should be noted on the cache listing and every effort should be made by the cache owner to avoid gravesites, memorials, flowered areas and any other location where a cacher searching for a cache may cause damage.

Schools

Caches are not allowed on or near school grounds.   The general rule of thumb is that if a cache is on or near school grounds, within line of sight of the school or within an area where students may be playing during school hours, then the cache will not likely be published.   It should be noted that many schools back onto public parks.   Caches within the park may be published provided they are in a location where the cacher is out of sight of the school and is not likely to noticed while searching for the cache.  Each cache will be reviewed on it's on merits.  Exceptions to this guideline may be made if the cache is on the private property of the cache owner and this fact is noted on the cache page.
